Welcome back and a Happy New Year to everyone! Our week started with a teacher only day to prepare timetables, important dates, etc. for the term. We welcomed two new staff members: Matua Hori Murray, Junior Rumaki kaiako and Dianne Hopping, Reading recovery teacher. We also welcomed 12 new students. All of our 'new entrants' were involved in a special powhiri yesterday morning, and it was lovely to see the Te Kuiti Kohanga Reo supporting their graduating tamaiti. Our pool is operating, thank goodness, especially with the heat wave we have been experiencing recently.All staff are impressing on their students the importance of wearing hats, bringing water bottles and keeping safe out in the sun. We wish all our whanau a safe and enjoyable Waitangi weekend.
